Senior Hazard Communication and Product Regulatory Specialist

About You
In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of tools, templates and work processes enabling the cost effective generation of compliant safety datasheets (SDSs) and labels for Dow products in the markets served. You will provide consulting on hazard communication matters, including but not limited to SDS EMEAI requirements, hazard classification, identification of substances of concerns in Dow products.
Besides that, you will also lead the implementation of International Chemical Conventions : monitor development of relevant regulations, consult, provide training to stakeholders. Furthermore, you will manage work processes for licensing, and annual reporting for the region.
In this role, it is key that you work autonomously within the boundaries of the work processes and that you are able to articulate complex matters with interdependencies with other teams.
What you will be doing:

Develop and implement complex tools, templates and work processes documentation to comply with Hazard Communication and Product regulatory requirements and company standards. This includes: Safety Data Sheets, notification to C&L regional inventories, international chemical conventions, etc. .)
Deliver expertise, develop complex technical training and coaching on HazCom and Product Regulatory work processes and tools (ERP Systems) across Dow functions and businesses.
Monitor development/ revision of relevant regulations/ guidelines through trade association involvement and/or regular consultation of external sources of information (e.g. governmental websites, etc.). Proactively inform impact to stakeholders accordingly
Represent the function during internal and external audits and inspections
Provide value-added regulatory interpretation and consulting services to internal stakeholders. If needed seek advice from law firms
Support complex regional advocacy activities and initiatives on Product Safety matters
Represent Dow’s position in trade associations. Coordinate common position for Dow and provide support to the development of responses on public consultation or industry position paper;
Lead global product Safety expertise projects (leverages beyond the work group) including ERP system updates and upgrades.

Your Qualifications

Master’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Toxicology or related fields
3-5 years experience in the field of product safety/hazard communication/product regulatory. This includes GHS classification requirements and International Chemical Conventions for EMEAI region (license to sell and reporting management such as EU PIC, CWC, ODS, POP)
Fluent in English and Arabic required, French is a plus
Analytical, detailed oriented, problem solving thinking
Excellent communication skills
Customer’s oriented mindset
Data mining proficiency is a plus
Knowledge of SAP EH&S Module is a plus
