Marketing Specialist

IDEO.org has an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist to join our Global Brand & Communications team. This role will focus on driving digital marketing across channels and serve as the marketing representative for the Nairobi studio.

You will

Support content and measurement across IDEO.org digital marketing platforms – 60%

Set and monitor meaningful metrics to assess and influence the ROI of marketing efforts relative to business goals
Support content for social media platforms and the IDEO.org website – developing marketing copy for campaigns, collateral, and newsletters
Manage the Design Kit platform (IDEO.org’s suite of publications, tools, and courses for practicing human-centered design)—managing inventory, tracking sales and revenue, and developing digital campaigns to drive sales
Partner with developers on technical updates to the IDEO.org and Design Kit websites
Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
Manage internal digital marketing tools and guidelines (e.g. microsite management)
Proactively stay abreast of the latest digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices

Serve as the marketing representative for the Nairobi studio – 40%

Create awareness of the IDEO.org brand and our work in the East Africa region through events and speaking opportunities
Work with design teams to capture stories for website, proposals, and media pitches
Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure brand consistency on all external-facing communications
Collaborate with external PR agencies and media houses to develop/pitch stories about our work, as needed
Contribute to IDEO.org studio culture

About You

You have 5 years of work experience in marketing, digital marketing, PR, or a related role
You’re a great writer comfortable crafting compelling marketing copy across a range of mediums
You’re deeply knowledgeable and insightful about digital marketing approaches with experience using data and metrics to measure impact
You have an entrepreneurial spirit and you’re able to switch seamlessly between self-directed independent work and highly collaborative teamwork
You’re passionate about tackling some of the world’s most complex social challenges—like reproductive health access, refugee rights, and financial inclusion—and are excited about the role design and creativity can play in solving them
You’re proactive and organized, but comfortable with ambiguity and aren’t afraid when things get a little messy
You are mindful of cultural nuances, and open to feedback from people with different points of view
You are familiarized with Google Analytics and Adwords a plus
You prioritize well and are able to manage multiple projects at once
