Reporting to the Acting Corporation Secretary and Executive Office, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
Assisting in the regular reviews of the Board Almanac (Calendar) Charter, Code of Conduct, Committee terms of reference, related policies and working procedures.
Supporting the coordination of Board matters, communication on the implementation of Board or Committee decisions including reports on follow-up actions.
Assisting in preparation of Board and Committee agendas, and reviewing papers from compliance with form and styling guidelines before circulation and uploading respective soft copy of the documents.
Assisting in Board and Committee meeting records administrative tasks and facilitating minutes sign-off and filing in the Minute Books.
Providing administrative support on the orientation, induction of new directors, training and development activities, including preparing post-event reports.
Assisting Corporation Secretary on the Custody of the Service seal and preparing reports of sealed documents.
Assisting in Drafting legal agreements and contracts in liaison with relevant departments, divisions, and units, including preparing legal opinions on contractual matters and on any legal actions contemplated by the Service before execution.
Assisting in the follow-up and monitoring the implementation of governance and legal audit recommendations.
Undertaking research, analysis and rendering advise on emerging legal issues, including assisting in drafting instructions on any litigation matters.
Coordinating the preparation and processing of legal notices and any other items for the Gazettement.
Assisting in regular compliance monitoring with obligations in agreements and contracts and initiating periodic performance reviews.
Attending Accreditation Appeals Tribunal proceedings (when required) and preparing briefs on the hearing.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with current Law Practicing Certificate;
Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Ongoing Training for Certified Public Secretary or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is an added advantage;
Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage; and
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
