ACCOUNTANT –NCK JOB GRADE – C 3 (1 position)
Job Description
Reporting to Senior Accountant, the Accountant is responsible for drafting the financial and budget statements through collating and aggregating financial data while adhering to Public finance management policies and guidelines to ensure timely reporting and
compliance to accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks
Verifying, sorting, code and upload invoices into the ERP financial system for cheque processing;
Managing accounts payables, receivables, imprests and its accounting;
Reconciling accounts payable transactions;
Participating in external and internal Audits and ensure its effective implementation of recommendation;
Filing statutory returns for compliance with the relevant applicable laws and regulations pertaining to financial management;
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual sectional reports;
Generating and sending out Invoices;
Carrying out debt collection and inform on the status;
Posting and maintaining transactions to journals, ledgers and other records to enable the generation of reports;
Reconciling customer accounts by generating reports for debtors; and
Processing statutory payments and returns.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Economics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Part II of the Certified Public Accountant;
At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting role
Proficiency in Computer applications; and
Membership to ICPAK or equivalent professional body is desirable
