Categories Manager – Beauty

As Categories Manager, you will be responsible for managing BeautyClick’s product categories, working with internal teams, suppliers, and wholesalers to foster their growth. You will be responsible for developing and executing long and short-term category plans as well as managing revenue for each category. You must have good communication and negotiation skills to drive strong relationships with our suppliers. You will also be expected to collaborate with suppliers both new and existing ones to expand product categories. As part of the leadership team, you will work hand in hand with other managers such as the commercial manager to ensure campaign initiatives are properly implemented.
Summary of overall Key roles & responsibilities:

Work with partner brands to enhance their product’s sales volume through product promotion and pricing
Enhance product’s profitability by reviewing the margins and mark-up and current prices in the industry.
Negotiate and re-negotiate supply terms and conditions and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
Perform regular customer surveys to gain insights on customer’s demand in the market and expand the existing categories in line with those insights.
Work with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure correct stocking levels both at minimum and maximum levels.
Work with partner brands to identify exit strategies for failed products.
Take a lead role in determining product positioning and forecasting product demand to maintain inventory sustainability.
Support the commercial manager to ensure the targets are met and the spend on either branding or promotion is cost efficient and within the set budget.
Develop and maintain good relationships with key strategic partners including new and existing vendors, wholesalers etc.
Drive the onboarding of new categories & new products and follow through to ensure proper consistency in sales and customer traffic after onboarding.
Continuous analysis of the competitive environment in the beauty industry monitoring trends in the market and identifying/developing develop opportunities and counter threats of the market.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this exciting role as categories manager should have proven experience as marketing manager, category manager, brand manager or a similar role preferably in an e-commerce or retail environment
Previous experience in category management is a plus.
You should have the ability to analyse key category metrics and develop accurate conclusions to support management decisions.
An understanding of the beauty industry, consumer insights and trends is a must
Experience working with key stakeholders in the beauty industry e.g suppliers, retailers etc
An analytical mind with strategic ability
Basic understanding of e-commerce KPIs and growth metrics
