Summary of Overall Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage and develop a small accounting team and do hands-on accounting work when needed.
Improving the infrastructure of the finance and accounting function by streamlining and improving systems and processes
Establishing and maintaining financial and administrative policies and procedures for the company to ensure good compliance with local regulations, including tax, HR, imports etc.
Maintaining good records of all agreements, licenses, permits etc in accordance with statutory regulations.
Leading the banking relationship for the business and establish credit lines for the business, including Trade
Finance facilities with suppliers and commercial banks and the ongoing management of these facilities
Leading the relationship with Kenya Revenue Authority and other relevant government bodies and be the spokesperson for the company towards relevant government agencies.
Managing cashflow for the business on a daily basis at a granular level
Producing detailed budgets and models and analysis for the business, for both internal use and for investors
Working with our accountants to deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts
Ensuring tight financial control and reporting for the company (ensuring that the company follows the budget)
Leading the annual audit process

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this exciting role will be a formally qualified accountant (CPA/ACCA) with a proven track record operating at a senior accounting or finance level.
You will be well motivated and enthusiastic and will be able to integrate into a small and close knit team.
You should have experience of managing banking relations and credit lines, including Trade finance facilities.
Proven record of managing tax and financial compliance for a company.
Experience of importing goods and overseeing logistics would be an advantage as you will be working closely with our logistics team.
Some experience of HR administration and payroll management is good.
