Job Description
We have an opportunity for a meticulous, detail-orientated Head of Solar to join a team that is known for providing turnkey solutions for energy efficiency projects. To be the person we’re looking for, you must be a budgeting and cost-cutting guru with previous C&I experience!
In order to apply for this role, you need a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering as well as be registered as a Professional Engineer. It is non-negotiable that you have 7+ years of relevant experience paired with 4+ years of management experience of complex projects of solar installation and commissioning in the C&I sphere. Your designing skills are exceptional and your portfolio of CAD designs will blow us away! It’s important that you’re methodical in your work to ensure budgets and time constraints are met. You will be working in a high-pressure environment, so the ability to thrive and produce outputs under such pressure is vital. As the Head of Solar, you will be responsible for making sure C&I projects are completed in time, and within scope and budget, guiding the solar department with your outstanding leadership skills, being the company’s point of contact with clients and ensuring their needs are met, conducting risk assessment and project trials to reduce project risks, and supporting with the definition of the project scope and objectives.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Postgraduate degree is beneficial
Registered as a Professional Engineer

Experience Requirements

6+ years of experience working in a similar role
4+ years management experience of complex projects of solar installation and commissioning in the C&I industry
Project track record of 1-3 MW projects
Previous BESS experience
Previous experience in contractor leadership and budget management
Previous health and safety training
Portfolio of CAD designs

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include making sure all C&I projects are completed in time, within scope and budget, conducting risk assessments and project trials to reduce project risks, supporting the solar department through providing leadership, supervising on-site workers and contractors to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects, ensuring compliance of all operations policies and procedures, and developing project methodology and tools to track progress against deliverables.
