We are looking for an experienced and innovative pastry chef to head our bakery and pastry unit. The Pastry Chef will report to the Executive Chef and will be the head of the pastry department. His/Her core functions will be planning of desserts menu, pastries, and cakes in a creative way.
Job Descriptions
Directs and oversees the pastry and baking functions of the kitchen
Menu planning and development
Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings.
Create new and exciting desserts and reviewing the current dessert menu
Decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.
Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays
Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
Manages all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen.
Able to develop, design, or creates new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen.
Qualifications;
College diploma from a culinary institution
Minimum 4 years experience in an active pastry and bakery department
Excellent verbal and written communication
Good communication skills
Leadership skills
Multi-tasker
