Job Brief
Zohari Credit Limited is a Kenyan-based microfinance institution that is registered under the Company’s Act. The Company’s vision is to provide loans to civil servants at market-beating rates with a delivery timeline of 24 hours.
Main Responsibilities

To approve and reject loan applications based on verification of all required documents and credit criteria.
To research and evaluate clients’ creditworthiness and ascertain relevant information regarding clients for issuance of new loans, buy-off statements, clearance letters, and stoppage instructions.
Maintain records of loan applications
To prepare deduction sheets and book loans with employer payroll.
To process loans for disbursement once they have been booked correctly from the employer payrolls and ensure that the employer feedback is verified.
Monitor all the active accounts disbursed monthly and ensure collection efficiency.
Upload all client deductions into their respective individual accounts.
Gather intelligence information in the field and professional networks and payroll staff to mitigate the risk of fraud and inform management on the issuance of good loans.
Gather market trends and intelligence on new trends and products in the market to ensure business continuity.
Follow up payments from employers to ensure timely payments
Ensure all lending procedures comply with regulations
Develop, review and update the company’s credit policies

Qualifications and required experience

BSc in Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance or relevant field would be an added advantage
Three years experience in a similar role
Proven work experience as a lending portfolio manager
Hands-on experience with accounting software
Solid understanding of lending procedures
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets
Negotiation skills
