Quality Control Officer

WHAT YOU’LL DO
 
Moko is looking for an individual with demonstrable experience within a production environment with knowledge of raw materials and a passion for quality systems analysis. The Quality Control Officer will work closely with various teams to ensure that quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times.

Structure, Organization, and Systems

Implementing quality systems by monitoring the effectiveness of existing standards and systems on the floor
·Leading root cause analysis on discounts, rejects, and waste on the floor for purposes of informing better production and setting up of the corrective/preventive systems in place
Allocating quality control tools to the team, i.e. tape measures, labels and check sheets
Monitoring inventory database and data validation
Running recipe trials on the floor and reporting on findings
Facilitating reviews of standard operating procedures and providing feedback to the Senior Quality Officer
Monitoring production pulse points
Reviewing and analyzing quality data from production to identify quality issues

Material Testing

Overseeing physical testing of all the raw materials
Supervising timely release or rejection of raw materials, intermediates and finished products

Leadership & People Management

Handling on-boarding and training for quality control supervisors and analysts
Updating the quality control attendance and monthly scheduling 
Handling payroll of both casuals and quality control analysts
Monitoring performance and conducting team appraisals

Safety Advocacy

Clearly communicating the safety policy of the company to the team
Carrying out in-house audits to ensure adherence to the safety guidelines
Issuing personal protective equipment to team members 
Taking lead in root cause analysis for incidents and following up on fixing unsafe acts reported by the team

Communication & Feedback

Monitoring returned products from the market to ensure proper analysis and feedback reports
Retention of disputed goods as far as quality is concerned.
Facilitate quality control meetings at the departmental level.

ARE YOU OUR DREAM CANDIDATE?

Bachelors in Chemical Sciences, Industrial chemistry, engineering or related fields
At least 3 years of working experience in quality control/assurance duties.
Strong ICT knowledge in system handling, data entry, and analysis
Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and lean manufacturing policies and procedures
Strong team management, leadership skills and problem-solving capabilities
High levels of integrity and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Eagerness to join a young, quickly-growing organization and team
