REPORTS TO: PROJECT OFFICER
LOCATION: KISUMU – TIVOLI
JOB PURPOSE
In coordination with Project Officer, oversee all components of HPV testing to include: supply chain management, packaging, distribution, cold-chain storage and transport, timely specimen collection, specimen processing within 48 hours of receipt, data collection, dissemination of results to Community Health Volunteers within 24-48 hours of results and biohazard disposal.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure quality assurance for each client’s specimen.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for laboratory, conducting all specimen preparation, processing and biohazard disposal in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices.
Notify Project Officer and CCC no later than 4 hours of any malfunction issues or challenges with PCR testing system, laboratory equipment, devices or consumables that may adversely affect program quality.
Ensure all HPV tests are kept in strict accordance with manufacturer standards for cold-chain storage, notifying Partner within 4 hours of any lost, stolen or damaged HPV tests.
Set-up and maintain laboratory to be consistent with processing for molecular testing, ensuring maintenance of laboratory at high standards of sterility and contamination control; make all necessary improvements as advised by CCC.
Support data management and documentation of results in timely manner.
Maintain adequate stock of consumables and re-order necessary supplies in anticipation of stock-outs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or Health Sciences.
Must have current registration with the KMLTT Board.
At least 3 years’ experience working in a medical laboratory.
Excellent report writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
Good Computer usage skills.
Proactive, creative, systematic thinker and problem-solver.
