Programmes Intern (Refugees Applicants Only), Nairobi Program Monitoring, Evaluation And Reporting Technical Advisor (Nairobi) Clerk Of Works (Kakuma)

Lutheran World Federation World Service Kenya Program is seeking to recruit Refugee intern (living in Nairobi Kenya) for the following position to be based in Nairobi (with frequent travels to Kakuma and Dadaab).
 Position:  Programmes Intern – Human Rights/UPR Project- (Refugees applicants only)
 Role Purpose
Responsible for coordinating and reporting on all activities in the project in conformity with the Project Document (PD) and its approved working budget, more particularly.
The incumbent will report directly to Technical Advisor- Advocacy and Human Rights or his/her designate.
Duties and responsibilities

Support in the coordination of in-country workshops on the UPR Mechanism for right holders and duty bearers.
Provide operational support to the project management for the smooth implementation of the specified programme component. This includes logistical support and preparation of background materials for use in workshops, seminars, training sessions, meetings, visiting missions, field trips, etc and reports on financial expenses/transactions.
Support the undertaking of and preparation for evidence based advocacy packages such as policy briefs or positions papers, research, studies and surveys.
Support LWF and partners carry out capacity-building and dissemination of learning to strengthen effectiveness in UPR related work.
Idenfity and participate in complementary advocacy/lobbying by partners in other arenas with a particular focus on refugee led initiatives.
Represent the Project in meetings with partners and other key actors including the Government.
Contribute in the production of timely and regular reports as required by the supervisor.
Establish and maintain accurate and up-to-date filing system for the documents, keeps information and reference material in a manner which allows easy retrieval;
Any other responsibilities assigned or delegated to him/her by the supervisor

Academic and professional Qualifications

A University degree in Law, International Relations, Sociology, human rights or any other related social/political sciences. A Diploma certificate is acceptable with proof of relevant professional courses and experience in human rights.
Demonstrable knowledge on the various human rights mechanisms particularly the UPR mechanism is essential.
An understanding of and commitment to rights-based approaches applied in a pragmatic way.
Operational knowledge of computer and organizational technology and ability to use information. and communication technology as a tool and resource.
Fluent in English and Kiswahili (read, write, speak).
