General Manager

WE’RE HIRING:
The position of General Manager at Nairobi Garage is open for applications. In this role, you will be reporting to the COO, and on a day-to-day basis, you will be in charge of overseeing and running one of our locations. You will be responsible for the overall experience and satisfaction of your members at your location.
As the General Manager you will be constantly making decisions, and setting the pace for your team. So, you will be required to demonstrate strong leadership, social, interpersonal skills & have a constant desire to deliver excellence. We are keen on hiring someone who has a high level of personal initiative, an analytical thinker who can work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
You ideally have experience managing people, are comfortable giving directions, have exceptional operational & organizational skills. 
The role will require deep empathy as listening keenly to people’s needs & solving problems on the fly will be at the core of what you do. It will also require you to delve into the system development and strategy side of the role. On a basic level, you should be comfortable with crunching numbers, using tech, giving feedback & creating efficient processes.

Easily make & maintain relationships with members,
Ensure excellent levels of customer satisfaction & quick resolution of issues arising,
Lead your team on Customer Service & how to deliver excellent service,
Ensure value & quality is delivered to our customer service delivered to all members, and 
Engage & creatively contribute to community events & ecosystem activities 

Space Management:

Ensure the space is well maintained & consistently repaired to sustain a high standard at all times,
Ensure core utilities & services are delivered at all times.
Manage the monthly budget & spending to reduce wastage

Team Performance: 

Enjoy collaboration & recognize the value in encouraging a work environment that promotes shared communications, efforts, and results,
Able to motivate teams to collaborate, work productively, effectively & inclusively
Able to enforce policies for your team, while motivating them to get things done in line with company deliverables & culture,

Sales:

Assist Sale Team in closing Sales Leads for membership & Grow Membership base
Oversee your team on their sales & upselling goals 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree,
Excellent written & Oral Communication Skills, 
At least 5 years experience in Managing & Mentoring Teams to deliver strong results within a positive work culture,
Significant experience in Project Management, with a strong sense of Responsibility and Accountability,
Ability to effectively manage and influence a variety of relationships within the workspace,
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities & work effectively on an independent basis,
Ability to listen well, integrating different perspectives then making good judgments based on values & culture of our organization,
Ability to pivot comfortably while evaluating information at hand & managing uncertainty,
Strong understanding of Operational & Administrative Targets and Deliverables, 
Good understanding of Accounting, Contracts, and Business Processes, and
Knowledge and interest in the innovation and entrepreneurship space in Kenya/ Africa.
