DESCRIPTION
To provide legal counsel and support to the Bank in relation to contracts, litigation and credit.
The main responsibilities include:
Review all documents presented for drawdown on credit facility to ensure that the Bank’s interest is adequately protected and conditions precedent met before disbursement.
Be responsible for preparing, reviewing, analysing and negotiating legal, credit and security related documents.
Act as a liaison with outside counsel.
Ensuring the due perfection and protection of the Bank’s interest in securities and the Bank owned properties.
Provide appropriate legal support to the Bank Remedial team in recovery of credit facilities.
Provide advisory services to the various units and sections of the Bank on their activities.
Provide company secretarial support from time-to-time
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university.
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in Legal within the Financial Services Industry
Knowledge and understanding of banking operations (international & domestic)
