Job Description
The Finance Manager role will revolve around developing and managing key finance & accounting systems and processes to ensure that the business is operating effectively and efficiently. Main responsibilities will include managing accounting operations and records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. You will work directly with the COO and the rest of the management team to dynamically run the business. This is a critical role in a fast-growing team that will support our global expansion.

Primary Responsibilities:
Drive development & implementation of new processes, systems and application of best practices to financial operations (treasury, financial reporting, payroll, procurement, financial systems, and internal control functions)
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems and ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly closings, financial statement preparation, financial and statutory audit, general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Management, board and investor reporting, jointly with relevant departments
Develop and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Coordinating the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
Perform bank & balance sheet reconciliations
Review and approve expense reports and expense reimbursements to ensure proper charging
Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
Lead financial/accounting set up of subsidiaries and ensuring these are streamlined, transparent and efficient
Ensure efficient flow of funds across the group
Oversee timely compliance with tax/statutory obligations for holding company and subsidiary offices
Manage external subcontractors/service providers (accounting, audit etc.)
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance/Economics, or relevant discipline.
CPA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent required. (Bonus – CFA)
3+ years’ experience in an audit/tax function at a large audit firm
3+ years in an operational finance/accounting function in a high growth company
Excellent demonstrable analytical skills.
Demonstrable experience with data driven analysis, financial analysis and financial modelling utilizing relevant software/tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau etc.)
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Excellent command of written & spoken English is required. Bi-lingual candidates preferred (French, Arabic)
Experience working in Nigeria, Egypt or South Africa would be advantageous
Location: Kenya (International travel required)
