Description
We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join and lead our Ad Dynamo team in Kenya. This requires you to lead the sales efforts and manage the overarching office operations.
The Kenya team looks after Kenya, Nigeria and secondary markets in the region – all except South Africa. You will be required to drive revenues and hit targets as well as evangelize our offering both internally and externally. You will also oversee all Partner communications for the Greater Africa region with our partners overseas and engage with C-Suite clients.
This position requires you to work with the broader Ad Dynamo sales organization to develop effective go-to-market models and best practices. You will report into South Africa.
In addition, the successful candidate will:
Be required to chase and hit yearly/quarterly revenue targets
Lead a high-performing team by recruiting excellent talent, retaining and rewarding existing talent, managing resources efficiently, and demonstrating great leadership
Provide thought leadership within the industry as it relates to ad serving platforms and the use of data to improve marketing efficiency
Advise sales and product management regarding market opportunities, sales positioning, use of resources and strategic planning
Act as an online advertising expert and evangelist for all our products
Provide deep knowledge and insights to drive creative and long term improvements to our overall platform offering
Own yearly/quarterly regional sales forecasts, planning and budgeting
Actively coach, develop and lead their team and act as a sales leader for the broader team
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Completed University Degree or equivalent – with a major in marketing
Any (digital) marketing conversion course/post grad diploma recommended
Minimum 10 years experience in advertising media sales – preferably digital media sales
Minimum 5 years experience in sales management or leadership role
Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Skillset:
Deep understanding of the online advertising industry with a focus on the tools and technologies that enable ad serving
At least 3-5 years proven direct sales experience in digital media with a strong foundation in technology, or in technology sales with a strong foundation in digital media
Experience with partner/agency/alliance management, business development and negotiations
Experience with direct advertiser sales, including negotiations and management of strategic partnerships
Proven experience setting up and growing an advertising sales team
Successfully building and growing advertising sales revenue
Able to develop comprehensive forward-looking plans and execute against them with both strategic and tactical initiatives
Experienced people manager with a track record of building and contributing to high performing teams
Team player with a positive and dynamic personality
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong planning and organizational capabilities
Ability and willingness to travel in Africa
