Requirements:
The Global Health Programs Manager, Africa will demonstrate the following:
The candidate must have at least 5 years’ hands on experience working within the life sciences and diagnostics space in a clinical capacity.
Candidate must have hands on experience in the Laboratory
Candidate will have experience and knowledge implementing laboratory quality standards
A candidate must demonstrate ability to teach and train adult learners
Excellent oral and written skills are essential, including ability to clearly explain clinical and technical information.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines,
Qualifications
BSc Medical Microbiology, laboratory medicine or Clinical diagnostics or its equivalent, a master’s degree in microbiology or public health with be an added advantage
Knowledge of programs and or project management
Fluency in written and spoken English Knowledge and training on Antimicrobial resistance an added advantage
SLIPTA experience and or training will be an advantage Mastery of Microsoft Office – word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Responsibilities
Job DescriptionScope of responsibilities:
Work with diverse groups both at national and regional laboratories to deliver quality assured diagnostic processes for HIV and AMR with a bias to the BD solutions
Lead capacity building activities for Fleming Fund supported labs through, training, mentorship, development of SOPs, strengthening specimen and isolate referral mechanisms within the laboratory network
Lead capacity building and data collection and communication for the Labs for Life program countries
Work with the Global team and India team to develop content and roll out the online training program on safe phlebotomy and SLIPTA
Develop and implement training materials for bacterial isolation, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
Support with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities using the defined tools and action plans
Conduct assessments using the WHO SLIPTA checklist and AMR Lab Quality Scorecard with the aim to provide a clear framework for continuous quality improvement, corrective and preventive actions
Assist laboratories prepare for accreditation to regional and internationally recognized agencies as guided by MOH.
Support the labs to implement good laboratory practices, ensure biosecurity and bio risk protocols are adhered to by the technologists
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
