Main Purpose of Job
Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join our FIST – Actuarial team as a Consultant. The person will support actuarial advisory services to an array of clients in life insurance, general insurance and the wider fields such as banking. The person will also support in project proposals and thought leadership initiatives for our clients. He/she will promote our leadership capabilities, which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction and talent development.
Job Description
Assist with undertaking assignments by following guidance of team leaders. This will involve assisting with client actuarial audit reviews based on evidence provided and documenting work undertaken per Deloitte standards.
Assist the team in business development and proposal efforts.
Assist as required with other ad hoc tasks within the department in relation to client delivery on assignments / projects, e.g. insurance product development, asset-liability modelling, actuarial valuation modelling and reviews.
Qualifications
University Degree in Actuarial Science from a recognized university with a Second class upper and above or equivalent.
Progress in passing actuarial qualification examinations (3 exams and above will be an added advantage).
Strong modelling skills in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and R/R Shiny programming language. Prophet will be an added advantage.
Minimum two years of actuarial experience.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Effective interpersonal and presentation skills.
