Salary Scale: Ksh. 38,270 – Ksh. 51,170 p.m. (CSG 10)
House Allowance: Ksh.16, 500 p.m
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.5, 000p.m
Leave allowance: As existing in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the government
Terms of Service: Three (3) years contract
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C with at least a C in Biology, English or Kiswahili and a C- in any other two (2) science subjects;
successfully completed at least 3 years pre-service training at Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized Medical Training Institution and have been awarded a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or its equivalent;
been registered by the Clinical Officers Council and with a current practicing license;
a Higher Diploma in any of the following fields:-Anesthesia, ENT/Audiology, Pediatric, Ophthalmology; Reproductive Health or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; and
demonstrated competence and ability in organizing, performing and discharging clinical duties at that level
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-
management of Clinical Services in a Hospital or Health Center;
seeing and examining patients and diagnosing and treating ailments;
conducting primary health care activities;
teaching, supervising and counselling students attached to hospital or health center;
liaising with division heads on health services; and
be deployed in specialized clinics
